Seminar on Canadian Immigration

There was a Canadian Immigration seminar by CILA in Bangalore on January 26, 2007
It turned out to be a Canadian Immigration Agent seminar. But still I could collect some valuable points.
  • There are 6 points on which an applicant is judged namely Education, Official Language, Experience, Age, Arranged Employment in Canada, Adaptability. One needs to score 67 out of 100 in these points. Upon searching found the same information on net at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-5.html for skilled labor.
  • With a Canadian PR, one can work in US.
  • One can work on-campus for max of 20 hrs per week without work permit and if the education/study course enrolled is Full time
  • One can work off-campus for max of 20 hrs per week during the study days and 40 hrs per week during vacations
  • The work permit obtained as a part of study permit depends on the length of study permit. For example: for a 4 yrs study permit, the work permit is approx 2 yrs.
